50 Ways to Give

January 18, 2022

Mercy Medical Angels would not have made it to our 50th year of service without your support. With that in mind, we’d like to provide you with some useful information: 50 ways you can give to Mercy Medical Angels. You can help us mark this milestone!

Time

Giving your time is a great way to help us out! Maybe you need volunteer hours. Maybe you’re trying to get work experience. Or maybe you just have extra time on your hands and want to do something good with it. Regardless of why you’re helping, volunteers like you are how we get things done!

1.     Volunteer at special events

2.     Ask other people to volunteer

Money

This one is obvious. But some people don’t know about the many ways you can give! If you know someone who works in state or federal government, they have a special way to donate. Mercy Medical Angels is part of the Combined Federal Campaign and the respective state campaigns. If you want to give stock or donate for a special occasion, our development team is happy to help you. Attending special events are a fun way to further the mission - bonus points if you bid on (and perhaps win) one of the auction items!

3.       Give online

4.       Mail a check

5.       CFC

6.       State campaigns

7.       Donate in honor of someone’s birthday

8.       Memorial gifts

9.       Stocks

10.     Buy tickets to special events (i.e. Salute Our Heroes Gala)

11.     Bid on auction items

Transportation

Our mission is: “Removing the barrier to medical care with transportation on the ground and in the air.” If you have unused airline miles or want to sponsor a volunteer pilot flight - mission accomplished!

12.     Adopt an Angel Flight

13.     Miles for Our Well-Being (American Airlines' charitable program for frequent flier miles)

14.     United Airlines/MMA partnership

15.     Southwest Airlines frequent flier miles

Fun and Food

Do you know someone who coaches or plays sports, or someone who works at a restaurant? Are you (or is someone you know) good at organizing events? Use your connections and skills to help Mercy Medical Angels! You can donate proceeds from tickets, registration fees, merchandise, or food. These ideas will turn ordinary fundraising into extraordinary fun raising!

16.   Baseball game

17.   Walk/run for a cause

18.   Martial arts tournament/demo team

19.   Restaurant fundraisers

Spread the Word

What if you don’t have time, money, frequent flier miles, or connections? Good news - you can still help! Telling people about who we are and what we do makes a big difference. Awareness brings in more people who are able and willing to give. Make sure to check out our website and social media channels for updates so you can back up your talk. Whether you speak in front of a group or one person at a time, spreading the word is a great way to give!

20.  Carry donation envelopes

21.  Have conversations with Uber/Lyft drivers about Mercy Medical Angels

22.  Tell family and friends about the work we do

23.  Ask people if they’ve heard of Mercy Medical Angels; if not, give them a quick “PR talk” and encourage them to give

24.   If you know a pilot, let them know about volunteer pilot flights and how they can help

25.   Talk about Mercy Medical Angels at your place of worship or a volunteer gathering
