“I was having symptoms of a mini-stroke, and needed to be seen by a vascular surgeon ASAP. They ran several tests, with one test revealing 80-90 percent severely blocked carotid artery on the left side of my neck. I was close to having a major stroke.” 

“I live in Union City, TN, and had to travel to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN. It’s nearly 200 miles away from where I live. I do not have much money, but I had to make this appointment to treat the severe blockages in my carotid artery. Otherwise, I would surely face having a stroke or a heart attack.” 

“Mercy Medical Angels provided me with a gas card to get to my appointment. We do not have transportation services or bus lines in my hometown. And with the soaring gas prices, I would not have been able to keep my appointment because I did not have the money for gas. If it were not for Mercy Medical Angels, I truly feel that I would not have received the care I needed.”
