Cardiac Patient Finds Care, Thanks to Charitable Transportation

A Broken Heart
Norma lives in a small town in Missouri. A while back, she had an aortic aneurysm. Doctors put a stent in, and the aneurysm has since stabilized. However, Norma recently began to exhibit symptoms of coronary blockage and blood disease. She went to her doctors, and they referred her to further testing.
Help Needed...
The best doctors that could help Norma were at St. Francis Hospital, located in a completely different area of Missouri. Gas was out of her budget. "I have been unable to work for one whole year now," said Norma. "I receive SSDI, but after paying bills there's no money left." Norma knew she needed help, but didn't know where to turn.
...And Help Received
That was when Norma found out about Mercy Medical Angels and their ground transportation program. "They sent me a gas card," said Norma, "which helped me in so many ways. I had some financial stability, maintained my physical and mental wellness, and my quality of life improved."
"Very Helpful"
Norma is now back home, waiting on answers from her testing. She may very well need more help in the near future. But now she knows where to go for help - Mercy Medical Angels. "Everyone I had contact with was very helpful," said Norma. "I would not have been able to get to these necessary medical appointments if it weren't for them. A big thank you to Mercy Medical Angels!"
