Patient who needed to travel out of state for double lung transplant

In Her Own Words...

"I was born with Cystic Fibrosis and struggled with it for years. Doctors told me I would need a double lung transplant as an adult."

"After a long time, new lungs were available. However, I developed an infection right before the transplant could take place. This disqualified me from receiving care in my home state of Missouri. I had to travel to University of North Carolina in Raleigh for this life-changing operation. The doctors said I would need to go back every year to make sure the lungs were working."

"This amount of travel got very expensive, and was a drain on my financial resources. I am on disability and my everyday expenses take almost my entire check."

"Luckily, Mercy Medical Angels provided me with charitable round-trip flights. They made it possible to receive the care I needed. I wouldn't have been able to get to this point if it weren't for them. Thank you, Mercy Medical Angels!"
