In Her Own Words...

"I have stage 4 renal medullary carcinoma. It is a very rare form of kidney cancer and the only specialists are located at MD Anderson in Texas. We had to travel from our home in Martinez, California in order to take part in clinical trials.


It took a lot of fighting with insurance to accept and approve the referral to MD Anderson. But then we worried about how we would get there. I'm on SSI and my mother works part-time, so we have a very limited income.


Mercy Medical Angels arranged flights for us on United Airlines. They were non-stop, which reduced our travel stress significantly. Everyone at Mercy Medical Angels was so caring. They kept us updated through the whole process.


Words cannot express our deepest gratitude for providing this travel assistance. I couldn't have made it without Mercy Medical Angels."
