Stories from Grateful Patients: Cindi

In Her Own Words...

"My name is Cindi and I live in Richlands, Virginia. I'm 37 years old. Recently, I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. Doctors in my hometown said that I would need a hysterectomy unless the cancer could be reversed."

"The best treatment to hopefully accomplish that goal was a chemo pill. They've been adjusting the doses, but the only way to find out if it's working is through a biopsy. The nearest hospital for that was in Roanoke, three hours away from my home. I couldn't afford gas for a six-hour round trip drive, as medical bills take most of my paycheck each month."

"Mercy Medical Angels sent me gas cards. It really helped to take the stress out of worrying about being able to afford to go to my doctor's appointment. Thanks to Mercy Medical Angels, I was able to maintain financial stability. I really appreciate all of the help you all have given to me."
