Man with two cancers after receiving treatment at MD Anderson in Houston thanks to volunteer pilots

In His Own Words...

"I was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer back in 2017. Now in 2025, I've been diagnosed with multiple myeloma."


"I live in Kentucky, and there aren't a lot of good treatment options nearby. My doctors said my best bet would be at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas. Driving would be too expensive and take too long, but flying commercial would expose me to other diseases that could make my health worse."


"That was when I learned about Mercy Medical Angels' volunteer pilots. They are truly special people who enjoy giving back to their communities. In my case, two of the volunteer pilots who flew me were doctors who combine their love of flying with taking care of people."


"I have to say that I was blessed that I received flights from Kentucky to Houston and back. My pilots were amazing, the flight was great, and I am maintaining financial stability plus overall wellness. All thanks to Mercy Medical Angels and their volunteer pilot program - I'm forever grateful!"
