Stories from Grateful Patients: Yesenia

June 6, 2025

In Her Own Words...

"Hello, I am Yesenia. I was born with a Congenital Heart Defect called Ebstein Anomaly. In the spring of 2024, at the age of 36, I had my first open heart surgery to repair my tricuspid valve. I am so happy and grateful that my surgery was a success."

"This year, I needed to visit the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota for my one year post-op. Unfortunately, I'm unemployed, so I couldn't afford the airfare from my home in California to Mayo Clinic."

"Mercy Medical Angels was able to help me by booking flights on American Airlines. I flew from Los Angeles, California to Rochester, Minnesota and back again. The post-op was a success. I even got to see a Peregrine Falcon!"

"I would like to thank the Mercy Medical Angels team for providing the services that they do. It is important for patients like me, who are in need. Thank you to Mercy Medical Angels, American Airlines, and everyone who supports this cause."
