Stories From Grateful Patients: Bonnie

In Her Own Words...
“I have malignant melanoma that metastasized to my lungs. After being diagnosed with cancer, I was fortunate to get into an experimental clinical trial of immunotherapy at UCSF. I am three years into treatment and my cancer is now classified as ‘inactive.’ I am now in their follow up program, so I need to go back every 3 months for CT scans, lab work, EKG, and appointments with the oncologist.”
“Cancer is expensive. I drive 3 hours and almost 200 miles for my appointments. There are times when I can’t cover the cost of gas. I wasn’t sure who could help.”
“Then I found out about Mercy Medical Angels. They assist me with ground transportation, by sending me gas cards. The ground transportation to help with gas for the 3 hour trip is a blessing and very much appreciated. Thank you to all who implement the program. I also thank the generous people who contribute to this program.”
“Mercy Medical Angels is changing and saving my life. I would not have been able to travel to this clinical trial if it weren’t for their ground transportation assistance.”
“Thank you, and God bless!”
