Stories from Grateful Patients: Margaret

In Her Own Words...
"I have a rare form of pulmonary hypertension called Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension. I required a Right Heart Cath (RHC) at a PAH certified facility. I am a single parent with multiple disabilities and caretaker to my disabled teen son. My son and I are a team. We share disabilities and we both have medical fragility from rare and chronic diseases. I am working hard without help as a solo parent to facilitate Sean's transition towards adulthood by navigating many supports and programs."
"I needed to travel from Bozeman, Montana to Salt Lake City, Utah. My PAH specialist is a pulmonologist at Intermountain Health, which is affiliated with the Pulmonary Hypertension Association University Care Clinic at Schmidt Chest Center in Salt Lake City. We are on a very low income and couldn't afford a plane ticket."
"It was such a relief to have help from Mercy Medical Angels and Southwest. I would not have been able to receive the care I needed if it weren't for them. But because they were there, our flight was great."
"Chronic pain and overwhelm makes flying and travel difficult. But despite weather related delays, we enjoyed being together. Mercy Medical Angels and Southwest made the process seamless and took the stress out of navigating each step. The flight assistance allowed me to have financial stability, maintain physical and mental wellness, and improve my quality of life."
"Thank you to Mercy Medical Angels and Southwest for all your help!"
