Return to Victory Junction

Kareem attended Victory Junction last summer, thanks to Mercy Medical Angels' volunteer pilots. This spring, there was a family weekend at Victory Junction.

Maryanne, Kareem's mother, jumped at the chance for Kareem to return to his happy place. Once again, the volunteer pilots soared into the situation. They were ready to help.

Time to Shine

Some of the activities over the family weekend were intended for campers and their families to do together. However, Kareem also received the chance to have fun on his own. Some of the highlights included photo ops, horseback riding, and archery.

Kareem's time to shine arrived on multiple occasions. He wasn't alone in his achievements. But he was the star of his own show. For a teen with disabilities like Kareem, that opportunity is truly life-changing.

"I wanted to stay forever," said Kareem.

Closing the Chapter...

After an exciting weekend at Victory Junction, it was time for Kareem to go back home.

Kareem still had fun on the way back. He sang his best rendition of "A Whole New World," from the Disney movie Aladdin, much to the pilot's amusement. After finishing the song, Kareem opened his heart: "Volunteer pilots are amazing!"

...But It's Not The End

Although Kareem's wish to stay at Victory Junction forever wasn't granted, he plans to be back this summer. He looks forward to flying with the volunteer pilots again. And he dreams of camp with his eyes wide open. After all, it's his happy place - where he has the chance to live his dreams.
